Cradle Cap: A Mere Complication

Cradle cap, also popular as infantile seborrhoeic dermatitis, is caused due to hormonal disorder in sebaceous glands which increases its activity enormously and allows its passage to the baby via placenta during pregnancy. This leads to the growth of skin cells on baby's head. In order to remove it people are advised to use baby oil on the affected area and once oil softens comb it gently. Washing the baby's head with baby shampoo can be another option. However, it might be a cruel exercise in winter months.

Though, it is found that cradle cap improves with time but in case it does not show any sign of improving then it is best advised to visit a doctor. One thing, however, should be firmly understood that at no point and at no condition should force be used. It must be understood that anything like this can lead to further complications. The best thing in this regard would be to follow the doctor's instruction and have patience.
